Alexa Firman was born and raised in Bedford, New Hampshire where she developed her deep love for baking at a young age, as she was always stirring up something for her family to sample. She took her first cake decorating class at age ten and went on to take culinary and baking courses through her high school program. Finding her love was primarily for baking and pastry, she went on to enroll in the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY and graduated in 2016. While at the Culinary Institute of America, she completed her internship at Blackberry Farm in Walland, TN. Blackberry Farm is a farm to table resort in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains. At Blackberry Farm, she practiced her skills in hearth breads, rolls, pastries, and danishes, while being trained in plated dessert production as well as special occasion cakes. Her love for the rustic local farm food style was highlighted through this experience and has inspired her to incorporate this style in her baked goods for her bakery, Simply Delicious Baking Co.
